My MOBE Journey – Is MTTB a Scam?

Posted on 21st July 2016 in Affiliate Marketing Programs

As internet markers, we are always looking for new opportunities and programs that teach us how to make money on the internet,  to further our understanding of internet marketing to grow our online business and increase our income.

I recently signed up with MOBE – My Online Business Education, to go through their 21 step program to eventually become a MOBE Licensee.  Most of the MOBE reviews I have read online are total crap, and are not legitimate reviews of the program.

MOBE sells big ticket internet marketing products with commissions ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 per sale.  That means you don’t have to sell as many products to make a full time income.

As you know, most affiliate marketing programs, while very good and offering great products to market and sell on your blog and websites, the commissions for a sale can be small, often range from 1% up to 10% per sale, some pay more, but the average is around 1 to 10%.  This means you have to sell a lot of stuff to make a healthy full time income, especially if your goal is to quit your day job, and have the income from your online business replace the salary from your day job.

The people reviewing MOBE on their blogs have not gone through the 21-step program, and as a matter of fact, on most of these reviews when you get to the bottom of their review they are actually promoting another internet marketing program with an affiliate link to purchase a competing product.  How’s that for honest marketing?

I have seen many reviews and comments from people who say MOBE is a scam.  I am sure you’ve seen a few of them when you looked up MOBE on  the internet.  Most if these negative reviews, as you read, are from people who most likely have never made a cent on line, are angry because they thought the MOBE training program was free, so when then discover there is a cost, well, now these “I want something for nothing” folks say it’s a scam.

The goal of this review is to give people who are thinking about signing up for MOBE a real unbiased review of the 21 – step My Online Business Education training course, so you know exactly what to expect when you sign up, just as I did, including your investment, whether it is time or money.

Just as there is a cost to attend university or many online or in-class training programs, many top internet marketing training programs, like MOBE have a cost, too.  The initial cost is the $49 registration fee, and a licencing fee if you choose to become a MOBE licencee.  You can become an affiliate if you don’t want to be a licensee, but the commissions are lower and you are not able to promote the best selling products.

How to make money blogging

Shortly after I signed up with MTTB, I was assigned a personal coach/mentor who will work with me through the 21 step training.  To be a MOBE coach/trainer, you must be a 6 or 7 figure MOBE earner yourself.   Ideally the coach should have some sort of a training background.  My trainer had several years of experience in the hi tech industry training people to use software programs.

My particular trainer is located outside of the US, so we speak on a daily/weekly basis using Skype.

After we spoke, I was immediately given access to the first two training modules.  Each module is a video lesson taught by Matt Lloyd, which includes his recorded voice along with slides.  Each lesson included a complete typed transcript of the entire lesson, and some additional video of other MOBE Licensees.

The first five lessons so far are really the foundation course, then the lessons progress into the real meat of what it takes to become a successful MOBE licensee, how to get high quality traffic, and ultimately how to convert that traffic into sales.

You are given access to two lessons at a time.  At the end of every two lessons, you are given a short quiz that goes over what you have just learned,  and if your trainer feels you understand the material, they unlock the next two lessons for you.

Each lesson ranges from 15 minutes to almost one hour in length.

Since I have five years of experience as an internet marketer,  the first five lessons reinforced what I have already learned over those years.  I have always used free traffic sources.  MOBE uses a combination of free a paid traffic to get the best qualified leads to your offer.

I learned that big ticket sales are more difficult to close than selling a $10 ebook, or a product on  MOBE  developed a program to close big ticket sales.  They have an in-house sales team that closes the sales for you.  Your goal is to find the people ready to buy,and the MOBE sales team closes the sale for you.

That’s it for now.  I’ll be updating my journey tomorrow, so stay tuned.

    Hi Ken

Have you read this review? This looks like a pretty honest review:

Hi bojie, I just started going through the 21 step MOBE/MTTB program. I am currently on step 6. I have friends who have been in MOBE for a few years. One guy makes over 1 Mil a year, and the other makes about $50k per year all on line. The guy is quite cynical, yet hasn’t even gone through the program. I am writing a weekly update as I go through the training program. Which one would you trust? Thanks, Ken

That review is very through, but definitely cynical and doesn’t seem like he actually went through any of the training courses.

Seems like he failed to mention that there are tons of free resources available to establish trust with your customer.

Also failed to mention that the customer doesn’t have to upgrade to any other product. If the customer wants to start promoting MOBE, they just need to be an affiliate. — The commissions will be less and only on front end products, but that’s just how it works.

Before you say that this is the *only* affiliate program that requires you to pay to be part of it, then you can look at something like Leadpages where you have to be a member at certain level to promote their product. It’s a lot more common than online pundits make it out to be.

At the end of the day Bojie, you can spend $50 to test out the system and if you don’t like it, you’ll get your money back.

I know Ken personally and I really like how he explained this. I also am a MOBE member and have been since before MTTB existed. Are there things that annoy me about it… yes. But I also get annoyed by things in almost every affiliate program that I belong to.

If you are considering MOBE or MTTB or any of the other products by MOBE, I can reassure you have nothing to fear. As long as you’re willing to put in the work and follow the guidance then things should work out.
